Our Story
Meet your local organic farmers and learn about their mission!
We are a USDA Certified Organic & Real Organic, 8 acre diversified fruit, vegetable, and herb farm serving our community in Monmouth and Ocean County. From the beginning, we have managed a CSA (community supported agriculture) program which now serves about 250 members. We focus on flexibility, transparency, and just being good neighbors. Our members aren’t consumers , they are a community that invest each year in us and the precious land that we steward. We also host an annual plant sale and monthly educational programs to strengthen local food literacy and community connection.
Your Farmers
We are first generation farmers Hannah and Joey with horticulture and environmental science degrees who individually began working on farms in 2012. Shortly after meeting in 2018, we embarked on a whirlwind adventure starting the farm, getting married, and welcoming farmer-in-training, Emmylou! Our crew has grow to include Arlo the dog, 2 cats, a few Gulf Coast Native Sheep, and a variety of geese and chickens! In 2025 we were joined by our littlest farm girl, Beatrix!
In the field, we are supported by a small team of hardworking coworkers and a steady rotation of work-trade CSA members, volunteers, friends, family, and neighbors who all believe that it takes a village to thrive!
We are still taking each day as it comes and moving through life with gratitude.
The Land
As first generation farmers, land access is a serious challenge, so we rented small plots for several years. We came to this land thanks to a long-time CSA member, in memory of her late husband, John, who was passionate about good food, community, and responsible land stewardship. After 5 years of renting, we closed on the farm in July of 2026. As we continue to shape the landscape here, we take the responsibility of John’s legacy seriously. The farm includes about 2 acres suitable for annual vegetable production, but between vegetable plots and on every slope, soggy low point, and wooded acre, we are filling the farm with perennial food for both humans and wildlife.
The Mission
United by our need to eat, the community that is cultivated around this farm will have the tools it needs to strengthen the health of their families and be empowered to navigate this uncertain world impacted by supply chain disruptions and climate disasters.
We believe that growers and eaters have a right to define their own food and land policies that are ecologically, socially, economically, and culturally appropriate to their unique circumstances. Our pricing reflects fair wages and safe working conditions, and we strive for accessibility by accepting SNAP both in person and online and participating in the GoodFoodBucks program that allows us to offer half priced CSA shares to EBT users.
