Organic CSA Program FAQ
How do I choose my fresh, organic produce each week?
Look out for your Friday morning newsletter, it will contain instructions, updates, recipes, and a link that takes you to the website page that allows you to place your order for the following week. If you think you are not receiving your newsletter, please contact us immediately as this is our primary means of keeping the CSA organized and running smoothly. We recommend creating an account the first time you order, please make sure the account name is the same as the name you registered under.
After placing your order, look out for receipt in your email. If you did not receive a receipt, please contact us to ensure your order went through.
How does the Ramblin’ Sol Farm Organic CSA Program work?
First, each Friday you’ll get a link in our newsletter that takes you to our website. Then, you select your organic produce in our digital farmer’s market for the following week. Submit your order by Sunday and you’ll get a confirmation email.
After that, you’ll pick up your box of fresh produce at your selected pick up location.
When registering for the full season, you may choose to pick up weekly or every other week. You can also choose to pick up from June to Mid-August only.

What is an item in my share for the Organic CSA Program?
We grow over 50 vegetables, herbs, and fruit on our small farm. In spring and fall, you can expect all types of nutrient packed greens and root vegetables. During the warmest months, you will share in a bounty of tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, squash, cucumbers, beans, potatoes, and more!
In general, an item will be one head, bunch, bag, pint, or quart of a vegetable. Quantities that are considered a single item for vegetables that don’t fit into a bunch, bag, or container will fluctuate depending on the week due to natural differences in the plants’ production.
For example, when cucumbers first start producing, 2 cucumbers may be considered an item. Then, at peak time for cucumbers, 6 cucumbers may be considered a single item.
Quantities are always given as a maximum, so no one is forced to take 6 cucumbers!
What if I don’t like a certain vegetable?
Our online ordering system allows you to choose from a list of available produce so that no one is forced to take any one vegetable.
What happens if I need to skip a week?
Your options are: double up before or after the week you are skipping, have a friend pick up, or donate it to our local food pantry!
What happens if I forget to pick up?
Contact us within 24 hours after your usual pick-up to schedule a time prior to Saturday at 5pm of the same week. Otherwise, it will be donated to our local food pantry.
Can I extend my 12 week share?
Absolutely! Extend at any time, just send us an email.
Any advice from current members?
- If you feel overwhelmed or don’t recognize a vegetable, it is totally ok to ask your farmers questions. They love talking about veggies!
- Your produce will store best unwashed and, other than tomatoes, most things do best refrigerated.
- Don’t feel like you need a recipe with a million ingredients. Simple is good and substitutions are fine. Experiment with switching out different greens and similar flavors. Ie. Don’t have onions? Throw in scallions. No spinach? Try Swiss chard.
- Sauté it, grill it, roast it, puree it. Add olive oil, salt, and pepper, and try one of these with pretty much anything. And don’t think you can’t cook lettuce!
- Most greens make great pestos. Just add oil, your favorite nut, and cheese if you like, and those greens will disappear!
- The freezer is your friend when you can’t get to things. We even through in whole bags of arugula and spinach to cook later.
